A VERY HISTORICAL DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES - 10K
Runner on the ground - SEAN
Downtown Los Angeles has a rich history and has been around since the end of the 19th century. You may not notice because of the new skyscrapers, but there are still some parts of Downtown Los Angeles that have stayed intact over the years. We will be showcasing some amazing old buildings, attractions, and places that make Downtown Los Angeles more than just a place to see a Basketball game.
Born and raised Angeleno tour guide, Sean, will show you some historic spots, neighborhoods, surprises and nooks and crannies through Downtown Los Angeles that you can’t see when you’re driving through it.
To convey this sense of history and variety in the area, this 10k run, or 6-mile run, will take you through many of Downtown’s inner neighborhoods including Little Tokyo, The Arts District, Bunker Hill, and Upper Grand. As a bonus, we will cross the newly rebuilt 6th Street viaduct, which is an awe-inspiring and very photogenic structure.
We will see some incredible street art and murals in the arts district. We will pass through the historical Little Tokyo with its classic shops and restaurants. We will then check out some new architecture, like the famous Frank Gehry designed Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Broad Museum as well as old, classic architecture, like the Bradbury Building, the original Los Angeles Times building, and the Biltmore Hotel. After passing the amazing smells of coffee and breakfast burritos at the classic Grand Central Market, we’ll also take a quick ride up the Angel’s Flight trolley from Lower Hill to Upper Grand so we can get a beautiful birds eye view of the city. Besides, what’s wrong with taking a quick run break to ride on a 100-year-old trolley?
Who knows? We may or may also not be passing a few choice filming locations on the way.
We wouldn’t want to spoil anything else, so let’s just say this run is a must for anyone visiting the city who wants a new and very localized experience, all guided by a local.

Thanks to Sean at GO running tours for the awesome tour of DTLA. We saw so much of the downtown area that we haven’t seen before and got in a 10k while enjoying these beautiful views and places. Win, win! Sean was very patient and accommodating with our pacing and stopping to take pictures of the cool LA landmarks. We had a wonderful experience!
