LOS ANGELES: EXPLORING ECHO PARK – 5K

When we think of Los Angeles tours, we tend to go to Hollywood or the beach, but there are so many neighborhoods rich with history on the East Side of town, that people tend to forget.

Our born and raised Angeleno tour guide, Sean, will guide you on a quick and easy run through some of these east-side spots, including Echo Park Lake, Angeleno Heights, and their surrounding areas. If you’ve been to Dodger Stadium, you might recognize the area and if not, you’re in for a treat.

Unfortunately, we won’t make it to Dodger Stadium, but we will see the swan boats, The Lady Of The Lake, and lily pads of Echo Park Lake while catching awe inspiring views of Downtown Los Angeles in the near distance as we begin with a 1-mile lap around the lake itself. You’ll understand why this is used in many films and shows once you experience its quaint and old-school beauty.

After the park, we will then run to the nearby historical neighborhood called Angeleno Heights. Most of the homes here are over 100 years old, with the oldest having been built in 1872! Running past it feels like you took a time machine to early Los Angeles before skyscrapers and smog. As you run through, you may also recognize a few homes from famous videos and films in this incredible picaresque area that is tucked away between Echo Park and Downtown. Don’t worry, we’ll stop and take some pics! Speaking of recognizing homes, we will finish the tour by checking out some choice locations from the Fast and Furious franchise. We won’t spoil which spots, but make sure you have your cameras out for these! Who knows, we may have someone show up and do donuts on the street. Trust me, it’s happened before.

This fast (ahem, and furious) 5k isn’t literally fast. This run is for any and all paces. We will be stopping for a few photo ops, so this definitely a casual and fun run. For anyone visiting Los Angeles who wants to see something a bit different and a bit more local-minded and a mix of old and new, this is the 5k experience for you! All of course guided by a local.

PICK-UP SERVICE

Pick-up service from your hotel/apartment or another meeting point is possible and will be checked by the tour provider individually. If your hotel/apartment should be too far away from the city centre or not close to the tour route, then we will meet you at our standard meeting point.
