ALL IN ONE GROUP TOUR – 8K
Runner on the ground - DAMIAN
Buenos Aires is a magical place! We will start the tour at the most iconic place of Buenos Aires, El Obelisco which is located in the Plaza de la Republica. From there we run straight to “plaza de Mayo” the place where everything happens here in Argentina. It’s from this place, the city grew to be what it is today, its where Evita talked to her people and its where the people go to protest against the government. All in all a place that is a very important part of who we are.
History is around the corner with our many old churches and buildings in Buenos Aires. You will see the typical cobbled streets of the city and the Bares where the porteños go to talk about Soccer and Politics. The two main subjects we talk about.
The old port that has become the “new city” will be our next destination. The old and the new become one and the river merges with the city and its people. We will cross the famous Puente de la Mujer or womens bridge. The unused docks have been turned into offices and restaurants but you can still see the original cranes that were used to load and unload the ships.
Our next stop will be Retiro and Plaza San Martin, one of the transportation centres of the Buenos Aires and one of the most visited parks with its beautiful trees like Araucarias and Jacarandas. Tthe statue of Jose de San Martin the genera that freed us from the Spanish crown, is also a must see as we run here.
Avenida 9 de Julio – the “widest street in the world”, we say is the last stretch of the tour and it is named after the independence day of Argentina. Usually you have to stop in the middle before you can cross it completely, unless you Run!!! We will see el Teatro Colon which is really beautiful and it´s said to be one of the 5 best operas and classic music theatres in the world because of its acoustics. From here is just a couple of blocks to Plaza de la Republica and Avenida Corrientes where all the most important theatres are. Our running tour finishes where it started.
