This running tour is a series of surprises! At every turn you’ll have different views of Florence or the countryside and the famous Tuscan landscape. Get ready to discover the close relationship between the historical town and the historical landscape, while running the hills of Florence.
From the heart of Florence the running tour leads uphill to Piazzale Michelangelo with it’s incredible view of the city and the run then continues through narrow country streets with their special atmosphere. You’ll run by villas, vineyards and small churches and on this lively run you will often find yourself completely off the tourist routes.
Getting back to the city centre you will run by the city walls and then visit some of the most important monuments like Ponte Vecchio with the small gold shops that are still today located along the bridge; the Uffizi Gallery, and the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.
This running tour is offered in two versions the short version which is 11,5 Km (7,2 Miles) and the longer version which is 13 Km (8 Miles).
The 8 Miles tour includes the historical Medici’s Villa del Poggio Imperiale . If you like to book the 13k tour just add an extra km during the booking process.
This tour is suitable for any kind of runner but take into account that the course includes ups and downs. The tour duration is up to your personal pace, but just to have and idea it usually takes from 1.5 to almost 2 hours.
