This running tour is the perfect opportunity to discover typical Genoa alleyways in one of the biggest historical centres of Europe. Starting from the central Piazza de Ferrari this running tour guides you through the streets of the historical centre. This old part of Genoa is absolutely unique: you will enjoy an impressive maze of narrow “caruggi” (typical alleyways), several churches from different historical periods, old elegant buildings of the famous ‘Strada Nuova’ (recognised as a Unesco World heritage site with other palaces called “Palazzi dei Rolli”) as well as a lot of small and charming markets and shops.
Runners will also run in the old port ( that is today very modern) completely restructured by the famous architect Renzo Piano for Expo 1992 ( the international Exhibition celebrating the 500 year anniversary of the discovery of America by Cristoforo Colombo)., The area is a beautiful square overlooking the Mediterranean Sea which now includes the Aquarium, restaurants, bars, cinemas through the piers of the touristic Port.
You will also have the possibility to run up a small hill which presents an amazing view of the city and the commercial port along with its famous lighthouse called ‘la Lanterna’.
The tour finishes with runners crossing the elegant commercial streets and ending the tour again in Piazza De Ferrari.
