GREY & GREEN SÃO PAULO TOUR - 16K
Runner on the ground - MARCIO
Grey&Green São Paulo is a great running tour through the city’s business and leisure hot spots. A tour of contrasts were runners will experience the throbbing pulse of the most populous city in the Southern hemisphere and the peaceful and zen surroundings of São Paulo’s green lungs.
Starting from Paulista avenue, the economic center of São Paulo, runners will immerse themselves among numerous commercial and cultural buildings of exquisite architecture, and a crowd of “paulistanos” rushing on its large sidewalks. You will take in the modern buildings of MASP (São Paulo Art Museum) and FIESP/CIESP Cultural Center as well as the historic mansions such as Casa das Rosas.
Paulista avenue is one of the highest points in São Paulo and from there you will head down to Pinheiros river with many quirky and interesting sights on the way. You will find yourself running through Ibirapuera park, the most important city park, a green oasis for leisure and cultural activities, where you will appreciate beautiful landscape and several buildings designed by Oscar Niemeyer.
Suddenly, back again in the concrete jungle. Now at the Brigadeiro Faria Lima avenue, another commercial and financial center, you will take in the view of modern high-end buildings like the Pátio Victor Malzoni, address of the Google headquarter in São Paulo. From there to Parque do Povo (People’s park), lying just beside Pinheiros river, another green oasis surrounded by the skyscrapers of this large Brazilian metropolis.
After catching your breath in the park, it is time to head back to Paulista avenue, now going up through one of the wealthiest residential areas of São Paulo.
On this 16km running tour (approx. 2hrs), you will see the city’s most famous postcards sights with the perfect balance between buildings and parks, business and pleasure sights, the gray and the green of São Paulo.
A running tour that will truly give you a glimpse and feeling of today’s São Paulo.

I ran a 16K tour in Sao Paulo with local runner Marcio. My hotel was on the route in Paulista Avenua and Marcio picked me up in the lobby.
It’s a pleasure to run with Marcio. We talked about life in the big city, studying in Europe and of course Sao Paulo. Marcio takes the time to explain the history of hotspots, different neighbourhoods or Brazil. The run takes you to the Ibirapuera Park which looks like the running walhalla of Sao Paulo. Thanks to the tour I knew the park and could go back the day afterwards to do some extra running.
Paulista Avenue is central in the tour and as this street is situated at the highest point of Sao Paulo, running up to Paulista Avenue is tough (but doable, no worries) and gives the tour this little extra challenge.
I would recommend this tour and Marcio to all who want to run in Sao Paulo – you will have a good time!

I really enjoy discovering cities by running around. This run across São Paulo with Marcio has been all I could expect: fun, friendly and interesting.
Thank you Márcio for sharing your deep knowledge of your city, but also much more, from urban mobility to fun runs, from my small hometown in France to the Japanese and Korean culture in Brazil.
Thank you for adapting the tour to meet me at my hotel, for sharing your enthusiasm and great mood.
Very lovely experience that I highly recommend, both with Go! Running Tour and with Márcio in São Paulo!

What a great introduction to São Paulo! I learnt so much about the Brazil, Japan, and Primates as one would expect.😉 Which is to say he’s a very knowledgeable guy, in an easy going no pretentious way. We’ll worth it!

I love running around every new city when I visit but even on my second trip to Sao Paulo, I had not yet managed to find the time. I was a little unsure of heading out on my own due to not knowing anything about the city so when I found GoRunningTours I was excited to see how it would work.
Márcio met me at my hotel and we had an awesome run of nearly 20k around some amazing places in SaoPaulo, his knowledge and enthusiasm for the city was great and I learned a lot.
A fantastic run, great guide and back in time for breakfast, really set me up for the day. Highly recommend both GoRunningTours and Marcio to anyone visiting this amazing city.

I am training for my first half marathon, so wanted to stay on track during my trip to Sao Paulo. Marcio was a great communicator about meet up points before the run. He is very knowledgeable and was very patient with my pace — and questions about the city! I felt very comfortable during the entire run. This was a great way to see the SP for the first time. Really enjoyed the experience and will be booking another running tour on my next trip!

The run with Marcio was great. It was a first time experience for me to mix running with a city tour and absolutely loved it. I was planning to run 20k which fit the conversational pace very well. Marcio adapted to my pace and we spent the time chit chatting which made the rather long distance seem less.
I cant recommend these guys enough, and look forward to the next run.

Spending three days in the city of Sao Paulo and missing my week-end run in back home in England I decided to do something about it and within a few minutes of googling I had fixed up a run the next day with Marcio. So glad I did that as aside from the exercise I saw and learnt so much about the city in great company. The time simply flew by. I would definitely do this again and recommend it highly to anyone.

Andrew was a great running guide. He adapted the run to my pace and some modifications I needed. He also very nicely provided with water on a very hot morning. He was was very knowledgeable on the route and Sao Paulo, explaining everything as we run by and further more. I´m an avid user of Go Running Tours and this location is beautiful. I specially recommend it if you are a woman and don´t know the city but would like to take a run and see it. I´m really looking forward to return and have a customized running tour on grafitti.

My guide Andrew was super, really friendly, went at my pace, provided me with water and stopped whenever I needed to – I’m not used to the heat of Sao Paolo! I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend.
