SÃO PAULO DOWNTOWN TOUR – 10K

“São Paulo Downtown” is the ideal tour for runners eager to experience the center of this fascinating metropolis while learning the history of its main sights.

From the early days of São Paulo to the wealthy first decades of the 20th century – a wealth driven mainly by the coffee market. Starting at the very beginning of São Paulo history, runners will see Pátio do Colégio, which is the site where the city was founded in the 15th hundred. São Paulo has one of the world’s largest Neo-gothic cathedrals in the world and you will take in the stunning São Paulo Cathedral while also getting up close to the “zero milestone”. The zero milestone is in front of the cathedral and symbolizes the very center of São Paulo.

From the Cathedral to the St. Benedict’s monastery and then suddenly you find yourself back in modern days while taking in the view of the Martinelli Building, the first Skyscraper in São Paulo as well as Matarazzo Building, current Cityhall, an imposing building made entirely of travertine marble.

But São Paulo is not only about skyscrapers and cathedrals – it is a pumping cultural scene. On this running tour, you will also see cultural buildings, such as the Municipal Theater, and Praça da Artes, a modern building finished in 2012, which is today the beating heart of the São Paulo cultural scene.

These highlights mentioned above are just some examples of what you will see during the tour. These highlights mentioned above are just some examples of what you will see during the tour. On this 10 km running tour (approx. 1h30min), you will experience all must-sees of São Paulo downtown while enjoying the day-to-day life and atmosphere of one of the most populous cities in the world.

Lots of insights on São Paolo City Center

The run was amazing. Marcio is a fantastic enthusiast of São Paolo. His enthusiasm was clearly perceivable. I learned a lot about São Paolo even though I have already lived there for a couple of years. I also felt always very save during the run. Thank you, Marcio!

    Sao Paulo in the rain!

    Jeremy Glover

Marcio was the perfect host, organising the route to suit my location and being perfectly happy to run in the rain – he was equally happy to postpone until another day – Marcio was super knowledgeable and I got a great introduction to Sao Paulo, seeing things I would not have seen elsewhere, which helped to orientate the rest of my stay.

    Exploring São Paulo

    Adrian Jones

I had visited São Paulo previously but had not explored the city too much. As a regular runner, it was great to combine running with Marcio’s insights on the history of the city.

It is a great way to explore and learn about São Paulo. I hope I can do this again on future visits.

I could have a very good experience by joining this tour.

My guide, Marcio, kindly and flexibly arranged the running route based on my request. With his guide, I could visit places which I would not visited or even recognized if I was alone.

It is great fun to join this tour. I recommend you to join it if you like running and want to spend a bit adventurous time.
