LEGENDS & LANDMARKS - 14K IN THE SOUL OF MILAN

Runner on the ground - GRETA
Step into the soul of Milan with a 14K running experience that goes far beyond the usual tourist trail. Our Legends & Landmarks Tour takes you on a captivating journey through time, architecture, and untold stories – from grand piazzas to secret corners only locals know.
We start in Piazza Duomo, the beating heart of the city, where Gothic spires stretch to the sky and centuries of history unfold before your eyes. From there, we move through the elegant Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, into the cultural powerhouse of La Scala, and onward to the artsy alleys of Brera, with its cobblestones and café-lined streets that once inspired painters, poets, and rebels.
Next stop: the majestic Castello Sforzesco, a fortress of Renaissance power and a home to legends, including Leonardo da Vinci himself. As we pass through its historic gates into Parco Sempione, we’ll head toward the grand Arco della Pace, the Arch of Peace, built to celebrate Napoleon’s victories and now a symbol of Milanese pride. Its neoclassical beauty, paired with the lively vibe of the surrounding district, makes it a true highlight.
But Milan’s soul isn’t only in the famous landmarks – it lives in its hidden corners. We’ll detour through quiet inner courtyards, charming side streets in Porta Venezia, and lesser-known gems like the Giardini della Guastalla, one of the oldest public gardens in Milan. These secret spots offer moments of calm and glimpses into local life away from the crowds.
The tour continues through the modern skyline of Porta Nuova, then winds down toward Piazza Cinque Giornate, named after the revolutionary five days in 1848 that helped shape Italy’s unification. This square is a symbol of Milan’s resilient, fighting spirit – a city that balances elegance with grit.
As we approach the final stretch of our run, we arrive at Piazza San Carlo, home to the grand Basilica of San Carlo al Corso. Inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, this neoclassical church is dedicated to Saint Charles Borromeo, the archbishop of Milan who famously walked among the sick during the devastating plague of 1576. Built in his honor, the basilica stands as a symbol of hope, faith, and the city’s ability to endure through its darkest times.
And what better way to end a run through Milan’s soul than with a warm marocchino at the historic Caffè San Carlo, just steps from the basilica? This rich espresso topped with cocoa and milk foam is a true Milanese classic – a sweet reward after a run full of legends, landmarks, and local flavor.
