Worth the early morning wake up

We had a great time with Citla. The views are breathtaking on this tour and her knowledge of the area, the land we were on and the history of the volcano was wonderful. Even though we encountered a set back to our original route she quickly rerouted us on a different trail and allowed us to continue this amazing experience. I will book her for additional running experiences each time I’m back in Mexico City.

Amazing Run/Hike with a great guide

    Hatim

The was one of the best experience of my trip to Mexico. The trail was incredibly scenic and also a bit challenging. I hiked more than run because of the altitude that I wasn’t used to. Citla was absolutely amazing. She knew the trail very well and knew when to pause and supported me move at my pace. We had such good conversation about running and about the trail. Not a moment of boredom.
Everything was included even the trips to the toilet. Such great value for money. In the end we stopped at a local restaurant and had amazing local breakfast (also included). I would absolutely do this again given the opportunity. Thank you Citla

Awesome tour with a great guide

The tour is as good as described, hiking/running up the volcano and in the crater. Citla had a lot to tell about the place and Mexico in general, which made the tour even more interesting. Highly recommended!

    Excelente Excursión!

Un absoluto placer haber tenido la opportunidad de conocer a Citla y visitar a uno de los volcanes más hermosos de Ciudad De Mexico! Hands down my favorite experience in CDMX.

Hoping to come back and do another excursion with running tours / Citla. Also just an FYI elevation gain on this one is no joke I felt it off the start but Citla is very accommodating and does not push, she goes at your comfortable pace. She was also nice enough to bring sandwiches/snacks and coffee! Also, not only is this a tour of the volcano, she also explained some of the history behind the city of Mexico, an absolutely must do if your in the area!🏃🏽‍♀️

    Amazing!!

I absolutely loved my running tour with Citla! I have little experience with trail running and high altitude running, so was a bit nervous about the tour in the beginning. But it turned out to be a highlight of my trip to Mexico!

Citla reached out a few days before to let me know what I needed to prepare for the run. She brought some snack, sandwiches, and also let me borrow a hydration vest.

We did a mix of walking and running the entire way because I needed to get used to the altitude. The volcano was absolutely beautiful and I loved being the only ones on the trail in the morning. The lagoons were spectacular, peaceful, and I felt so lucky to be able to see them.

Citla is funny, knowledgeable about running/Mexico City, and was an awesome conversation partner for the run.

This was my first running tour and I can’t wait to take more. I’d highly recommend this running tour for anyone who wants to be active and see some gorgeous scenery nearby Mexico City!

If you book one day trip, book this one!

    Maggie

The trip out to Nevado de Toluca was the highlight of our trip. The mountain and surrounding area are absolutely stunning, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday. Citla was an absolutely incredible guide: she was kind, helpful, funny, and a joy to spend a day with. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough.

Worried about the distance or elevation? If you’re not up for running or hiking the whole way, there are trucks that you can hop in and drive to the top in. It’s truly a choose your own adventure kind of run.

And if you’re still not convinced that this tour is the one for you, make sure to book one of Citla’s other city tours. She’s an incredible host and you don’t want to miss out!

    Great escape from the city

    June Cho

This tour was one of the highlights of my vacation in Mexico City. Citla picked me up early in the morning (glad that it was early because we were able to avoid the crowd), drove for a couple hours to the trailhead, shared sandwiches, and we started our trail run/hike as the sun was coming out. There are no trail signs, so it was great to have Citla to make sure I don’t get lost. The trail to the crater is very steep too, so it was a lot of hiking and great workout. Once at the crater, we ran down into the crater and ran around the lagoons. Citla is very accommodating with whatever speed I wanted to go or any breathing or snack breaks I needed throughout the tour. She is also very knowledgeable with histories, so she and I talked a lot on Teotihuacan and Aztec histories, in preparation for my upcoming visit to Teotihuacan pyramids. As a resident in Mexico City, she also gave me great recommendations for food during my remaining times in the city. I highly recommend this tour with Citla for a great day trip to the mountains, great conversations, and awesome recommendations of things to do and to eat in the city!
