Runner on the ground - DANIEL

10 years of running

Uhuru Park is situated on Uhuru Highway, across from Nairobi InterContinental Hotel, bounded by Kenyatta Avenue to the North, Community area to the West, and Haile Selassie Avenue to the South. Its central location in Nairobi’s central business district makes it easily accessible to residents from all corners of the city City Park Run is one of its own kind. Runners will run in the greenest park of Nairobi while enjoying an excellent view of Nairobi City. The park will treat runners to views of its artificial lake, several national monuments, and an assembly ground which has become a popular skateboarding spot on weekends, catering to Nairobi’s growing skate scene.

The assembly ground is also used for occasional political and religious gatherings too. Shade trees, expansive lawns, Boat riding on the artificial lake in the Park, monuments etc makes it a beautiful place to stop by and have a wonderful sight running tour.

I had the privilege of exploring Nairobi on this running tour with Daniel Gekara, and it was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve ever had! Daniel is a fantastic host and guide, and managed to maintain a comfortable pace for me throughout the run. I was truly honored to run with such a superb athlete, and this is one of the best ways to explore Nairobi. I travel to Nairobi fairly often, and I will book a run with Daniel every time I’m there. I highly recommend this for any runner looking to explore this city.

I booked the short city tour and was privileged to run with Daniel Gekara, who is a professional runner – where do you ever have the opportunity to do that as a back runner? Daniel ran at my pace, was extremely gracious and an excellent tour guide and ambassador of Nairobi city and Kenya. Such a good way of starting the day! I can recommend this unique experience.
