SCENIC AARHUS TOUR – 12 KM

On this 12 km run, you will discover that Aarhus has a lot to offer just outside of its city centre and you will experience the city’s peacefulness, running along the seaside and in the greens and forest areas.

Starting from DOKK1, we will quickly move away from the pulse of the city centre, running past the industry of the harbour that has always been an integrated part of Aarhus.

On the other side of the harbour, we will continue the run undisturbed along the calm and scenic coastal area of Aarhus. We will run along the beach for a while, passing the idyllic Marselisborg yacht harbour, the exclusive villas on the beach road, ending up in the Marselisborg Forest with a beautiful sea view from the Odd Fellow Palace Varna.

The forest is a haven for runners and we continue along the nature paths before we get to Marselisborg Memorial Park, passing the Danish Queen Margrethe’s summer residence – and if we are lucky, the queen will be there and so will the guards!

On our way back, you will get a glimpse of Aarhus’ amusement park Tivoli Friheden, beautifully placed in the forest, right before the run takes us to the cozy and pretty district of Frederiksbjerg with its “boulevard à la Paris”. This area is perfect for connoisseurs and foodies.

Back at the starting point, you will finish the run with an amazing view of the newly developed harbour quarter and with a feeling that you have seen a unique and different part of Aarhus. Also, your lungs have been filled with fresh seaside air and your head with stories about how “Aarhusianere” cherish and use the seaside, the nature and its attractions as an active part of their everyday lives.
