Welcome to a tour of where Copenhageners spend their time.

Today, we’re not just visiting landmarks or ticking off famous sights — we’re exploring Copenhagen through the places that locals use, enjoy, and return to in their everyday lives. This is a tour about how the city feels to live in, not just how it looks.

We begin in Kødbyen, the old Meatpacking District, where industrial buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries have been transformed into one of the city’s most vibrant areas. What was once a place of production is now a social hub filled with restaurants, galleries, and nightlife — a perfect example of how Copenhagen reinvents itself while preserving its character.

From there, we move to Enghave Plads, a true neighbourhood living room. This is where daily life unfolds — people meeting for coffee, children playing, locals passing through on their way home. It reflects the strong sense of community that defines many Copenhagen neighbourhoods.

We then pass through green spaces and into Frederiksberg Gardens, one of the city’s most beloved parks. Here, you’ll see how Copenhageners use public space — relaxing, studying, celebrating, and simply enjoying time outdoors. In Copenhagen, nature is not something separate from the city — it is fully integrated into everyday life.

Continuing along Frederiksberg Allé and Værnedamsvej, we experience another side of local life — cafés, wine bars, small shops, and streets designed for slowing down. These are places where people gather, linger, and enjoy the social side of the city.

At the Lakes, Søerne, we reach what many locals consider the city’s shared breathing space — a place for walking, running, meeting friends, or just taking a pause in the middle of urban life.

The last stop before heading back to the starting point is Torvehallerne, where Copenhagen truly comes together around food. Here, locals shop, eat, and socialize — a reflection of the city’s strong food culture and emphasis on quality and community.

Along the way, we might also touch on broader themes: Copenhagen’s history, bike culture, gastronomy, high taxes, and why it’s often ranked among the world’s happiest cities.

This is Copenhagen — lived, local, and real.
