Discover the heart of Budapest on an unforgettable 11 km running adventure!

Our journey begins at the bustling Kálvin Square, where the vibrant rhythm of the city blends with its historical charm. From here, we head toward Fővám Square, passing the magnificent Great Market Hall, one of Budapest’s architectural gems from the 19th century. Crossing the Liberty Bridge, we’re greeted by the striking silhouette of Gellért Hill and the shimmering surface of the Danube.

Reaching Szent Gellért Square, we get a glimpse into the elegance of the city’s famed bath culture as we run past Gellért Thermal Bath. We continue past the iconic building of the University of Technology, a symbolic center of Hungarian engineering education. Through Bertalan Lajos Street we reach the artsy, café-lined Bartók Béla Boulevard where local culture thrives, with galleries, bookshops and charming terraces. Then we loop back to Szent Gellért Square, then descend to the scenic Gellért Embankment. Running alongside the river, we run past another picturesque bath Rudas Bath, then Várkert Bazár, which offers an exciting variety of events every month. Soon we arrive at Clark Ádám Square, by the oldest bridge of the city – the Chain Bridge and the Tunnel, with the Buda Castle rising majestically above us.

We will continue our tour with running up the Buda Hill, wich means 70 meters elevation gain including some stairs – this part is quite challenging but reaching the Fisherman’s Bastion we’re rewarded with sweeping views. The peaceful, tree-lined streets then leads us down to Batthyány Square, where the Hungarian Parliament reflects majestically across the Danube. We continue along Bem Embankment until we reach the Margaret Bridge, with the option to make a short detour to the green tranquility of Margaret Island. Crossing this iconic bridge the route gracefully spans the Danube, providing a unique perspective of Budapest’s dual personalities- Buda and Pest.

Crossing back to the Pest side, the Hungarian Parliament emerges as a monumental presence. This building is probably the most iconic building of Budapest and is one of the most beautiful parliaments of the world. Its neo-gothic spires and ornate facade command attention, amplifying the historical resonance of your run.

Then make our way through the leafy avenues of Liberty Square, where modern and neoclassical architecture meet. Our route continues through the lively Erzsébet Square running past Budapest Eye and the cozy City Hall Park, and finally winds down beneath the shady trees of the Museum Garden passing the Hungarian National Museum, bringing us full circle back to Kálvin Square.

This city run is more than just a workout — it’s a journey through time in the heart of Budapest, where every step tells a new story.
