Tampa’s waterfront has shaped the city’s past and continues to be one of its most breathtaking features. Waterfront Wonders of Tampa is a 13.1-mile running tour designed for those who love to explore while staying active. Whether you’re a visitor or a local, this journey through Tampa’s coastal landmarks will give you a fresh perspective on the city’s history, beauty, and evolution.

Our route highlights some of Tampa’s most iconic waterfront locations, starting at the lively Riverwalk near the Convention Center, a hub of culture and activity along the Hillsborough River. We’ll weave through the modern energy of Water Street, a revitalized district blending sleek architecture with Tampa’s maritime heritage.

From there, we’ll follow the shoreline to one of the most recognizable landmarks on Bayshore Boulevard—the legendary Bayshore Pirate Ship, a nod to Tampa’s Gasparilla pirate festival. As we continue, we’ll cross the bridge to Davis Island, where we’ll pause at Peter O. Knight Airport, an active airstrip with a rich history tied to Tampa’s early aviation days.

The journey continues along Bayshore Boulevard, one of the longest continuous sidewalks in the world, where we’ll take in the stunning waterfront views at the start of the Bayshore fitness trail. Finally, we’ll wrap up at the historic Henry B. Plant Museum, an architectural gem that once served as a luxury hotel and played a pivotal role in shaping Tampa’s growth.
