MELBOURNE "WORLD'S MOST LIVEABLE CITY" - 10K
Let me show you why Melbourne has been named ‘The World’s Most Liveable City’ for 7 years in a row (by the Global Liveability Index). We will visit all the elements of this city that make it so special – the history, the culture, the cosmopolitan lifestyle, the sports, the arts, the Greek area, China Town and so it goes on….. Melbourne is famous for its fashion, its coffee and its laneways – I’ll show you them all, including my favorite coffee and eating spots. And running the city is the best way to see – and photograph - it all!
Runner on the ground - ANDREW
10 years of running
Starting at Federation Square this tour begins with a photo on every corner! Flinders St Station, St Paul’s Cathedral and Young & Jackson’s Hotel. 3 major landmarks and one intersection.
Before we work out our legs we’ll visit the famous graffiti lanes of Melbourne. Then we’re off and running, heading west along the Yarra River via Southbank where we’ll find many gastronomic delights. We will visit Docklands and the mighty Marvel Stadium. Coming back into the CBD we’ll head towards the Queen Victoria Market – home of food for over 140 years and spreading out over 7 hectares.
From there we’ll visit the major shopping areas before heading north to ‘Little Italy’ – Lygon Street and on to the fascinating Royal Exhibition Buildings – site of Australia’s Federation back in 1901.
We couldn’t miss visiting the theatrical centre, China Town, Greek Town and more could we! Then we’ll head across to our State Parliament, Captain Cook’s Cottage and Fitzroy Gardens .
Next is a tour through our sporting precinct, beginning with the mighty Melbourne Cricket Ground and Tennis Centre.
We’ll finish with a run down along the beautiful Yarra River, with the gardens on one side and the city on the other. Soon you’ll be back and enjoying coffee and be ready to go again!
