Ibiza is a small island and is not very populated, but it has a large number of runners. The Ibiza running races circuit is varied, ensuring that each runner finds a race that best suits their needs. However most runners try to participate in as many races as possible, to enjoy our favorite sport in the company of our colleagues.
Several races are held throughout the year, mostly between October and April. Among them all, there are four especially important because of their international impact, since many athletes take advantage of these competitions as a way to come to visit the island and do some tourism with a medal hanging on their chest.
Main Ibiza Running Races
Ibiza Marathon

April is the busiest month for racing in Ibiza, and hosts the two most important asphalt races. April 13th is the Ibiza Marathon, which has almost 2000 participants between the 22 KM and 12 KM races.
Ibiza Half Marathon
Date: 20 April 2024
Start Time: 18:00
The other big date is April 20th, the day of the Ibiza Half Marathon, which also has a 10 km race. Starting in the town of Sant Josep, it goes by road to Ibiza town, with the finish line at Port of Ibiza. Many international athletes take advantage to come to Ibiza and enjoy the pleasant spring weather.
3 Días Trail Ibiza

At the end of November, we have the fantastic 3 Días Trail Ibiza, another international race where great runners from around the world visit us to share three days of pure Balearic trail running. Friday night is the 10 KM, while Saturday has three options 30, 41 and 862KM, and Sunday being a 105KM by the city of Ibiza and Dalt Vila. (Go Running Tours Ibiza offers a Ibiza Downtown 7 km Tour visiting all the must see places of the city). This race is also UTMB Qualifiable for up to 5 points.
Smaller and Club Races

Pujada al Puig de Missa & Pujada Extrem

This is a crowdy and very popular race at Santa Eulària des Riu. It has a short run from the seashore straight up to the church over the slope, and another one with 11 KM of running along the coast paths that take you to the same elevated church.
Ibiza Downtown Run

Explore the history of downtown Ibiza on this 7km Downtown Run that takes you through the narrow streets inside the city’s walls to the old fisherman’s quarters and marina. A guided run that can be booked any time, a great way to explore the city if visiting.
Lidl to Lidl

It’s time to enjoy the beauty of the countryside. A small 9 KM race starts from Ibiza’s Lidl Store (The Main Partner) and runs a circular route along trails. The bigger 23 KM race starts from Sant Antoni’s Lidl and runs along the trails up to Ibiza’s Lidl.
Flor d’Ametller

This is a nice 7,5 race through the plain of Santa Ines and its fields of almond trees.
Mile & 10 km Sant Jordi

This race consists of a popular Mile and a scoring 10 km race for the Balearic athletics league. This one takes the road to the Natural Park of ses Salines. Go Running Tours Ibiza Offers an amazing running tour visiting this Park and its stunning views.
Cursa per la Dona

This is a popular 5 km race to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Passeig a Passeig

One of the most fun and popular races, in which you run from the port of Ibiza to the port of Santa Eulària on a 15 km route along the road.
Cursa per Muntanya

Again time to get into the wild… Another incredible 28 km race through one of the wildest areas of Ibiza, climbing from Sant Josep to sa Talaia, the highest mountain on the island.
Blue Challenge Triathlon

A 26 km night race between the valleys of Sant Mateu and Santa Inés.
Cursa per la Salut

This race consists of both 5km and 9.5km runs, covering a very green area around Ibiza town.
St Jordi Trail

Starting early in the morning in the middle of the hot Ibizan summer, we go back to the trails to enjoy another fantastic 18 km race.
Mini Marató Sant Bartomeu

3 km and 5 km, two very fast races running by the Sant Antoni Bay.
Ruta Norte CxM

Again back to the countryside, these 10 & 19 km races will take you to the wild north of the island, running on sand, trails and cliffs.
The racing season in Ibiza gives the unofficial start at the end of September with a popular 10km race in Sant Mateu, where every year a large number of runners are gathered, ready to take off the laziness accumulated in the hot summer months.
Pujada a Vila

The Last race of the year, this fast 2,5 km race starts from the port of Ibiza town and runs up to the Ibiza Cathedral passing by the streets of Dalt Vila.
