WATER OF LEITH & VILLAGE LIFE TOUR - 11K
Runner on the ground - EDINBURGH RUNNING GUIDE
In this tour you will get away from the usual tourist trail and check out the delightful walkway known as the ‘Water of Leith’. This waterway used to be an integral part of the city and its business, but as roads and air travel took over, the waterway lost its importance within city life. You can still see the many factories and workers’ houses that line it, which are now trendy flats and offices, but which still give the route its historic and classic feeling.
Once off the waterway, we head into the bustling and vibrant area of Stockbridge, a trendy hangout with a bohemian vibe where the locals like to come for the Sunday market and the many great coffee shops! We finish off the tour, by heading into the ‘hidden village’ of Edinburgh with its unique and colourful architecture. It is then back into the city centre and to the starting point.
We go at a pace comfortable for you and there are always plenty of stops for photos and to ask any questions. There is usually even time for a quick coffee stop if you fancy it!
