Description
Meeting at the Dataran Merdeka (Independence Square), of KL Zero Milestone to be exact and the surrounding historical buildings then we will run towards the River of Life where the beginning of KL with the meeting of the 2 most important rivers in Malaysia then passing through the Masjid Jamek (the oldest Mosque in KL) with its Moorish architecture. From there we will continue with the heritage trail, coming across the Cathedral of St John and St John’s missionaries school, the hallmark of the era of British Colonization. Then we will encircle the Bukit Nanas Eco-Forest with the KL Tower sitting on the top of the hill. This is one the original natural forest right in the middle of KL downtown. From heritage to forest, then we will arrive at the happening spots in KL, the uber modern part of KL city epitomized by the KL Twin Tower and its park. Subsequently, we will move towards the Little India and Chinatown and if time permits to take a break to savor some of the local delicacy and local desserts before passing by the street where Hindu temple and Chinese temple is just next to each other, representing the peaceful and harmony among the different religions and culture living together in Malaysia. We may drop by at the Central Market for some views of the authentic artifacts and cultural products before finishing at where we first started.
At the end of the run, you will be amazed with the diversity that KL offers, ranging from the the colorful cultural heritage, its foods as well as the buildings architecture where people from different faith and religions learn to accept and appreciate each others, clearly demonstrated with Chinese and Indian temples literally next to each others while the mosques, churches and sikh temples are merely a stone throw away. Probably you will be touched, regaining the hope that we humans can live harmoniously and joyfully despite our differences!
