COYOACÁN - A MAGICAL NEIGHBORHOOD TOUR - 5K

Runner on the ground - CITLA
On this tour you will become familiar with the way of life in Mexico City. This neighborhood was famous for its orchards, farms, convents and textile factories and is today one of the most colorful and loved suburbs of the city.
Visiting famous old houses and museums will take runners on a journey through time, from the conquer Hernan Cortes to the modern artists Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The neighborhood has many restaurants and cafes where people come to chat, drink a beer and hear the music of their local bands. After your tour, you can try some delicious Mexican food like “quesadillas”, “pozole” or “tostadas” as this place is a flourishing market where the locals satisfy their hunger. It is also possible to visit the craft markets with original pieces of silver jewelry and in the main square you can see talented street artist’s perform their acts.
Don’t miss playing with traditional Mexicans toys like the “Balero” or “Rehiletes”, which are sold by local craftsmen or eat a traditional sugar cotton.
Nichole –
I booked the 5K Coyoacan tour to start at 7AM. I’m a fairly slow runner but Citla did a FANTASTIC job keeping with my pace and giving an informative tour at the same time! Citla’s knowledge of the neighborhood is extensive, plus she took many pictures of me at key points. I truly enjoyed seeing this neighborhood and would recommend it to anyone. It’s very quaint and a different viewpoint of Mexico City. If I had to pick only one activity to do Mexico City – this would be it! Thank you, Citla!
