We’ll start our tour at the monument to the immigrant in Woldenberg Park on the shores of the Mississippi River. We will continue down the river walk to Jackson Square, which is surrounded by iconic landmarks such as St. Louis Cathedral and the Cabildo. Here, you’ll learn about the rich history of the French Quarter and how it has evolved over the years. We’ll also explore the picturesque streets of the French Quarter, lined with wrought-iron balconies and Creole cottages.
Next, we’ll visit the famous Bourbon Street, where the party never stops. You’ll hear the sounds of jazz music and the smell of delicious food as we make our way down the street. After Bourbon Street, we’ll head to Louis Armstrong Park and Congo Square where free and enslaved people of color would gather for meetings, open markets, and celebrations that would be instrumental of the formation of Jazz music. We’ll also explore the surrounding neighborhoods, including the Marigny and Treme, which are known for their vibrant music scene and colorful street art.
Finally, we will see the French Market, a bustling marketplace where you can find everything from fresh produce to handmade crafts. We’ll end our tour at one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, the Café Du Monde. Here, you can indulge in a warm beignet and a cup of café au lait while taking in the sights and sounds of the French Quarter.
