IMPORTANT STARTING NOTE:
This run is entirely within the state of New Jersey which is across the Hudson River from NYC. The starting point is in Hoboken, NJ which is easily accessible by public transit or ride sharing (approximately 15-20 minute trip).
Embark on a breathtaking journey with our NYC Skyline Expedition half marathon, a mesmerizing route that begins at the historical Hoboken transit center and unfolds along the stunning waterfront of Hoboken and Jersey City. Lace up your running shoes as you set out from vibrant Hoboken, a city celebrated for its charm and panoramic views of the New York City skyline.
As you follow the waterfront south through Jersey City, the skyline of Manhattan unveils itself in all its splendor. Marvel at architectural wonders such as the Colgate Clock, a historic timepiece that harks back to the industrial era, and Goldman Sachs Tower, a symbol of modern design and financial prowess, standing tall amidst the cityscape.
Then prepare to enter the sprawling oasis of Liberty State Park, a verdant expanse that frames the Manhattan skyline and offers an unparalleled view of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. As you complete a lap around the park, the majesty of Lady Liberty and the historic significance of Ellis Island become poignant focal points. The park’s expansive lawns and waterfront paths provide a serene contrast to the bustling city, creating a harmonious blend of nature and history.
Returning north on the western side of Jersey City, the route affords another opportunity to appreciate the New York City skyline. Catch glimpses of One World Trade Center, a symbol global resilience and rebirth.
As we begin our return to Hoboken, the focus strikes a healthy balance of NYC splendor and the significance of New Jersey’s history in contributing to that splendor. We approach the final stretch in Hoboken, the hometown of iconic singer/musician Frank Sinatra, with the George Washington Bridge looming in the distance.
