This running tour follows Surawong Road which is a combination of art and economics and leads you into Bak Rak.
The Bak Rak area, still possess a European atmosphere with many exclusive colonial-style hotels and old abandoned warehouses. Runners will find themselves in awe of the BUKRUK exterior wall paintings and this is truly a chance to get a feel of the Thai Street Art scene. In Thai, Bukruk literally means “invasion” and the Bukruk Festival which was held in January 2016 is still today the biggest street art festival held in Thailand. These street celebrations which attracted hundreds of viewers and participants left Bangkok with some incredible wall paintings made by some of Europe’s and Asias leading street artists.
After taking in the stunning and thought provoking street art, the running tour continues with slow-pace to China Town. The area around Yaowarat Road is fascinating for its Chinese pharmacies and gold shops, and presents a sharp contrast to the area you were in just a minute ago. In China Town there are many market alleys populated by street food stalls and local items. Exploring the food experience in China Town is truly unique both from gastronomical point of view as well as urban point of view. Typical of Yaowarat are its small crowded lanes filled with markets, that sell… well, anything you could possibly imagine.
