TOKYO JUST RUN - 10K
Runner on the ground - IHOR
Ten kilometres is a familiar distance in an unfamiliar city. You may run 10K every week at home, but Tokyo makes it feel new.
Trains in Tokyo can make Shibuya, Shinjuku, Asakusa, Ginza and Ueno feel like separate islands. Running shows you what lies between them: wooden houses behind office streets, a tiny temple beside a railway line, the chimney of a sento bathhouse, and the Sumida River opening up between the buildings.
Running with one of the Tokyo running clubs or social runs in Tokyo is a good way to meet local runners and feel the social atmosphere of the city, and we honestly highly recommend trying one if you have the time. Usually, you come to their meeting point, follow their route, and run with the group.
Our 10K Tokyo running tour with Go! Running Tours is private, personalised and a tour from the beginning. We meet you at your hotel at the time that works for you, run at your pace and bring you back afterwards. We can finish at a good coffee shop nearby as well!
Just Run running tour is flexible. Some guests need their regular 10K or have a training session to complete. We can find a smooth route and run continuously, with guidance and conversation on the move. Other guests want a sightseeing running tour close to their hotel. We then include stops for longer explanations, small places they would probably miss and time for photographs. We handle the navigation, so you can keep your phone in your pocket. “Just Run” means that running remains at the centre of the morning.
In Japan, we call it “omakase”, which means something like “leave it to me.” From a hotel near Tokyo Station, we may link the iconic Imperial Palace running loop with Marunouchi, Nihonbashi or Ginza. In western Tokyo, a good 10K can connect Shinjuku, Yoyogi Park, Harajuku and Shibuya. In the east, we may run through Ueno Park and Yanaka before heading towards Asakusa, or even connect it with the Sumida River and Tokyo Skytree.
Ten kilometres is also a good choice when you cannot decide between our fixed tours. Tell us the distance, the pace and what you enjoy. We will take care of the rest.
