TOKYO JUST RUN – 7K

We normally go all in on the sightseeing and tour elements of our runs, but sometimes our guests just want to run a beautiful and interesting route, avoid too many stops and in the company of a local running guide. That is what our ‘just run’ service is for.

Runner on the ground - IHOR

Seven kilometres is a lovely distance for meeting a different side of Tokyo.

Perhaps this is your first morning in Japan. Jet lag wakes you before breakfast, the trains are only beginning to fill, and Tokyo feels quieter than you imagined. Behind the famous crossings and towers there are narrow streets, tiny shrines, old walls, railway bridges, sleeping shopping arcades and local parks where the neighbourhood is starting its day with radio-gymnastics.

7K run in Tokyo is short enough to feel easy, but long enough for Tokyo to surprise you several times.

Running with a running club in Tokyo is a great way to talk to local runners and feel the social atmosphere of the city, and we honestly highly recommend trying one if you have the time. Usually, you come to their meeting point, follow their route, and run with the group.

A 7K running tour in Tokyo with Go! Running Tours is a different kind of experience: it is private, personalised, and a tour from the beginning. We meet you at your hotel, match your pace and bring you back to where we started afterwards. A nearby coffee shop can be the finish line too 🙂

You decide how the run should feel. For a continuous 7K, we choose a smooth route and guide you without planned stops. If you prefer a sightseeing running tour but cannot find a route close to your hotel, we will plan a personalized running experience in your area, with pauses for explanations, places that are easy to miss, and photographs. Your running guide is your navigator, personal podcast and, when needed, extra motivation. The “Just Run” part means that running remains at the centre of the morning.

In Japan, we call it “omakase”, which means something like “leave it to me.” If you stay in eastern Tokyo, around Asakusa, today may feel like a Ueno Park and Yanaka Ginza or a Tokyo Skytree and Sumida River day. If you stay close to Tokyo Station, we might tie the Imperial Palace running loop into our run. If your hotel is in the western part of the Yamanote Line, we might run under the skyscrapers of Shinjuku, or run through the runners’ favourite Yoyogi Park to Harajuku and Shibuya.

Tokyo is much too large to finish. There is always another good route waiting nearby!
