ZURICH HALF MARATHON GRAND LOOP - 21K
Runner on the ground - CAROLIN
This comprehensive route starts at Paradeplatz, quickly passes through the historic center with its iconic churches Grossmünster and Fraumünster, Opera House, then commits to an extensive lakeside journey. We’ll run south along Lake Zurich to the alternative culture scene at Rote Fabrik, cross the striking new Cassiopeiasteg bridge, and return via the eastern shore through Zürichhorn park with its Chinese Garden and sculpture collection.
The route showcases Zurich’s full personality: banking power and counter-culture, medieval guilds and modern architecture, Swiss tradition and international diversity. We’ll share the essential stories while maintaining a steady pace suitable for half-marathon training.
You’ll see neighborhoods tourists never reach, run paths locals love, and understand why Zurich consistently ranks among the world’s most liveable cities. The entirely flat route follows lake paths, quiet streets, and riverside promenades — perfect for maintaining rhythm while sightseeing.
Ideal for: Marathon trainers, experienced runners, fitness enthusiasts wanting a proper long run with cultural insights.
