I have been planning to write this article since I first ran in the Newline Imotion Tee after we received the seasonal gear from our sponsor, Newline. Although, I am glad I’ve waited a few months as it gave me enough time and training to discover new features and try the Tee in different weather conditions.
I have been a keen runner for over 15 years. Throughout these years I have learnt to appreciate running gears that not only do the job as promised but at the same time make me feel good in my skin. According to my philosophy, feeling good-looking boosts confidence that leads to performance improvements. Feel free to test this belief of mine. I have been testing different brands from no-name to the big ones and decide to share my favourite item of the season: the Newline Imotion Tee.

Newline – The brand
Let me start with introducing Newline, the Danish brand that offers running apparel with the highest level of functionality.
“It all started in 1981. Hanging in a parachute between sky and earth, the founder of newline, Helge Petersen, started wondering why his suit was wet and the parachute still dry..” (Newline.com)
And later Helge used parachute fabric to make functional running gear. I think this tells a lot about the company’s innovative philosophy. You can tell it is Danish brand when you wear Newline as you get the hygge(cozy) feeling when you jump into your gear. Every single item I own is incredibly soft and comfortable on the skin so I think the company is true to its philosophy which says “with our running apparel, you can focus on your performance, not your clothing, when you run”.
Imotion– The collection
Imotion is one of the collections Newline offers and it has a special space in my heart. The reason is because with the Imotion family they managed to overcome one of the biggest challenges running brands are facing – combining functionality with style and fashion. Fashionable and yet functional running gear is a rare bird but Newline nailed it. They create innovative clothing with daring combination of shapes, colours and styles.
Newline Imotion Tee
Regardless of the season there are three things you expect from a running T-shirt: it should be breathable and should wick the moisture away from your skin while keeping you cool. The Newline Imotion Tee is rocking all these three criteria while also introducing some extra features you might be surprised to see at first but will be satisfied after the first few runs.

Let me present the main highlights of the Newline Imotion Tee.
- Soft cotton touch polyester fabric: Made of 100% polyester this shirt is extremely lightweight. Even after a long sweaty run it does not smell bad, which is something I have been struggling to find for ages. If you – like me – jog almost every day you can agree with me that running shirt that stay odor-free is a rare treasure. A feature that not only myself but I am sure also our running tour guests appreciate. 🙂
- Elbow long sleeves: I always tuck up my long-sleeves anyway so the elbow-long sleeve was something I found both cute-looking and imaginative. Furthermore it also gives it a funky touch when you wear a different-coloured base shirt. If you are a Newline designer reading these lines, can we please, have more items with elbow-long sleeves?
- Colour options: I own a goes-with-everything chocolate one but it is available in two more slightly brighter colours to boost your mood and also to be seen on a dark winter evening run.
- Low-rise funnel neck: here is nother example of the clever combination of a fashionable feature that also makes a big difference in comfort. It protects your neck from the wind without covering it too much so it won’t get too sweaty underneath.
- Flat seam construction: It can’t be praised enough. It makes the Newline Imotion Tee as comfy that you want to wear them as a PJ. Thanks to the soft material and flat seems construction it will never cause chafing.
- Easy to combine with other items: It is designed for autumn/spring but by wearing an extra layer underneath (in my case it is usually the black long-sleeve bodwear) you can turn it into a neat and warm combination. When it gets warmer the Newline Imotion Tee can be worn simply on its own.
