DAY 1 | Arrival
Upon arrival at Sydney International Airport, you will be met and driven to our hotel, Ibis Darling Harbour. Sydney Darling Harbour places you in the heart of the city, walking distance to Sydney Lyric Theatre and close to Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. After your long flight and a bit of rest, you might feel like joining us on our easy “shakeout run“ to the Botanical Gardens (5-8K) After the run we are going to hop on a water taxi to make our way back to the hotel to sleep off the jet lag.
DAY 2 | Coastal Run
Distance options: 8, 17.5 or 26 km (5, 11 or 16 miles)
Fully rested and prepared after a good nights sleep and a hearty breakfast, we will drive (just 1 hour) to our first national park. Today’s run will have incredible coastal views, beautiful sandstone escarpments, sandy beaches, coastal heath, and wildflowers. A nice picnic will be waiting for us after the run.
DAY 3 | Blue Mountain National Park Run to Ecolodge
Distance options: 7 or 15 km (4.5 or 9.5 miles)
Third night’s accommodation will be in an eco-lodge nestled in the trees deep in the Blue Mountains National Park. This running experience combines forest trails, single track and plenty of options to go long or short, depending on how you feel. Your run will have you arrive at a pristine river surrounded by eucalyptus and plenty of diverse wild fauna and flora. The lodge operates in the most environmentally friendly way. You will be off the grid, power is generated from solar panels and rainwater is harvested for drinking and washing. A homemade meal will be waiting for you after this run.
DAY 4 | Blue Mountain National Park Run
Distance options: 7, 14.5 or 22.5 km (4.5, 9 or 14 miles)
After breakfast, we will be saying our goodbyes to our hosts of the eco-lodge and start another run on mostly single track trails with wildflowers, and plenty of lookouts along the way. We will finish our adventure to the Blue Mountain National Park with a visit to the famous “Three Sisters” lookout, rising nearly a kilometer above sea level.
DAY 5 | Recovery Day / Picnic at Shark Island
Distance options: 5 km, 8 km (3 miles, 5 miles)
Today is all about recovering from all those miles we ran in the last few days. After breakfast and a recovery run, we are going to paddleboard to Shark Island! Don’t worry if you have never been on a Paddleboard before – it only takes about 30 minutes to get there and you can sit or kneel down to paddle your way to the island. A nice picnic with amazing views into Sydney harbor will be waiting for us.
DAY 6 | Sydney Harbor Run
Distance options: 9.5, 16, 24 or 34 km (6, 10, 15 or 21 miles)
Our last day’s run will take you along a coastal path, over Sydney harbor bridge then along a beautiful coastal track with amazing ocean views to your left and the Sydney skyline to your right. You will be running on a mixture of a paved walkway, boardwalk, maintained bush track and a short section of sandy beach. After the run, you have the option to climb Sydney harbor bridge – a once in a lifetime experience! You will be tired but happy and ready for our last group dinner.
DAY 7 | Departure
We will provide transportation from our hotel to Sydney International Airport.
What Level of Running is this Trip Suitable For?
This is not a race! On this trip, we have plenty of different distance options for each day ranging from 6 – 33 km (4 – 21 miles) so we can accommodate a wide variety of fitness levels.
