Description
Ngong hills is the home of most of the Kenyan athletic champions like former 2003 world marathon record holder Paul Tergat, 4 times Boston marathon Champions and many others. Now you have the chance to train amongst these world class runners and feel the elite vibe in this unique running hub.
Ngong Hills is 2200 m above sea level and you can spot runners any time of the day ,this is a good place with different weather condition… cold, hot and mist day. Running above 2200m above sea level, is a great way you can try to run in high altitude while enjoying the view of Nairobi city and the plains of Maasai land.
On this half day trip you will train with the elite, breathe in the atmosphere of being surrounded by world class runners and of course ask all your questions about training, running technique, race tactics etc.
This tour is a unique opportunity to meet the world running elite and meet people who truly live and breathe running. The tour is fully adjusted to your abilities and is a great experience regardless of whether you are at elite yourself or have just gotten into running. You will also have the chance to visit Ngong Town which is a quiet and busy town.
Flexible: Tour distance will be adjusted according to fitness level but guests can expect to run 1-2 hours. (half day trip)

I have enjoyed an amazing day running with top elite kenyan runners, and also enjoying the Nairobi Marathon.
Daniel has prepared an incredible day. He is not only a top proffesional runner, but a great person. He has introduced me great runners, showed me where and how these elite runners live and train, and, we have enjoyed a 15 kms running, in an amazing scenario.
Everthing perfectly planned: logistic, food, relax and running.
If you are a runner, and if you come to Nairobi, you must talk with Daniel. You will enjoy an amazing experience, and you will meet incredible athletes.
Thank you very much Daniel!
Ill be back for sure.
You are the one!!!

Great opportunity to see and experience kenyan pro runners training and living conditions in Ngong hills. Daniel and his team were really nice. Good luck to them to win marathons around the world.

Beautiful experience with Daniel and his colleagues.
I recommend 100%! Wonderful way to discovering the green Ngong hills around Nairobi.
A must-do activity for runners. Much better than running in Nairobi city.
Wonderful persons. Very patient (yes, you might be slower with the altitude!) and truly inspiring!
Keep up the excellent work.
Keep in touch! Thanks a million.

I spent three days running with Daniel and a small group of elite running friends, and had the most amazing experience. We spent each day exploring a different microclimate: one day in the forest, one day in the hills, and one day down in the Savannah running with the giraffes. And each day, we ended by eating warm flatbread and drinking Kenyan tea at a local cafe, while sharing our running stories. Daniel always has a big broad smile on his face and goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. He is a genuinely happy person, and his happiness in contagious! His love of running and for the Ngong Hills region comes through in everything he does. We did a total of 55k over the three day period, but he was happy to adjust the distance up or down for me. And he allowed me to pick the pace. These runners are amazing to watch in action, but even more impressive was the amazing countryside that we were able to explore and the hospitality that Daniel and his friends showed me while I was there. They went the extra mile in every respect. Anyone near Nairobe needs to put this on their itinerary.

Daniel organised for me to run with two of his running mates while he was racing abroad. They were really friendly and took me on a route up the hills and back. It’s a great experience, you see so many other fast runners, but Lydia and Erick were happy to go slow with me! They took some photos along the route which was nice as I forgot to take many – meant I have some good memories. I would recommend this tour to anyone who likes to run, whatever speed you are. I have never run anywhere like it and to be among great runners is a brilliant experience.

Booked a session in the early morning. Daniel was really helpful arranging transport from my AirBnB and his communication throughout booking process was great. Arrived in Ngong at around 630 and we were on our run soon after. Was amazing to run as the sun was rising and at a decent pace that was dictated by how quick I was going. Daniel took some great photos and videos as I ran that he shared with me later. As we ran he pointed out some the elite runners who were training on similar routes one of whom was the recent female diamond League 5k winner. After we went for some Kenyan tea and a walk around the village. Daniel gave me some good advice about training plans which I will definitely take on board. We also went to look at the training track before getting some lunch. This was a great first day for me in Kenya which helped me see both local life and also get an understanding of running culture in Ngong. Seeing Kenyans fly past you on their training runs is truly amazing and to understand their training techniques is really valuable. Great experience that I can highly recommend!!
Thanks Daniel!

I loved running in Ngong Hills. It was an incredible experience to run early in the morning, feeling the humid smell of the forest, touring villages that are still inhabited by native tribes and still the place where the biggest names in the world race train. Special thanks to my friend Daniel for his professionalism and team spirit by sharing a little of the local culture, providing walking tips and also guidelines on how to perform better in races. I want more and I will come back!

I recommend this tour and expereince so highly for both professional and amatuer runners. Daniel and his friends very welcoming and fun to run with. Daniel is such a nice person and was so genuine, motivated and interesting. I learnt so much about all areas of running and what makes the Kenyan runners champions. Such humble and passionate people. The altitude is a good challenge for fitness but scenery and fresh air is well worth it.
I recommend this very highly to anyone. Cheers Daniel. See you Soon!

This is an amazing experience and I would recommend it to anyone. Daniel is a great guide – friendly, informative, offering a few tips here and there but also just letting the experience speak for itself. I would run with him any time (he’s also a great photographer – don’t worry about trying to capture everything yourself, Daniel sent me 50+ great pictures as soon as we were done).
The Ngong hills are incredibly beautiful, and it is a profound feeling to know you are running where so many of the all-time greats have trained. The run is HARD (hills, altitude, dirt trails, etc.), but that is what you sign up for, and that is what makes it special. I am writing this the day after, and I am sore, but in a good way.
This was honestly one of the coolest things I have ever done. If you are thinking about it, do it!

I had the pleasure of meeting and running with Daniel, he is a great person and a true Champion, I will always recommend Train with the Kenyans because it’s an unforgettable experience, to talk and run along with such a great person, time fly’s while we were running. Next time I’m in Nairobi I will run with the Kenyans again and I hope everyone does too!

I enjoyed this tour SO much! My friend and I both signed up while visiting Nairobi and we were picked up by a driver from our hotel and brought to meet Daniel and his team in Ngong. We were then able to go off on our run and we both really enjoyed it. We were actually able to run at different paces because Daniel was with his team and so we could split up a little. The scenery was spectacular, the trails wonderful to run on and it was fascinating to chat to Daniel as we ran. We were able to pick exactly our paces and duration, plus Daniel took me on a couple of extra loops so that we were able to keep joining up as a group again. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience (including going for some Kenyan tea after our run!) and I’d recommend it to any runner visiting Nairobi! Thanks Daniel!
