SAN ANTONIO MY PRECIOUS BREWERY RIVER RUN - 10K

Runner on the ground - BEN
The San Antonio Riverwalk is the number 1 attraction in Texas. The Riverwalk is a city park that cuts through the middle of the downtown area just one level below the city streets. This run will allow you to submerge yourself into a tranquil and serene river oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. Along the route, you will experience native plants, trees, and wildlife which flourish at the river level. You will also pass by the oldest, and one of the largest, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post in Texas. VFW Post 76 is a casual beer garden serving cold drinks and having live music in the reportedly haunted 110-year-old Victorian home. The members of the VFW say the post is haunted by some spirits that run up and down the stairs and move furniture. Ask me about their names.
As you zigzag through the river’s bend you will come to the Pearl Brewery. This former brewery operated from 1883 to 2001. The Hotel Emma, which was once the heart of the Pearl Brewery, is now a 146-room luxury hotel overlooking the river. The Pearl Brewery got its name from its brewmaster who thought that the foamy bubbles in a freshly poured glass of the brew resembled sparkling pearls. Ask me about the Three Emmas’ Cocktail.
After taking this run you will probably want to return and enjoy a cocktail at the Pearl or maybe you’ll see some paranormal activity at the VFW, but either way, you will not be disappointed.
